Derby Day 2012!
From those who brought you the Charitable Ladies Derby Day for the past five years, we introduce the Austin Influential Group and Derby Day 2012 – featuring new attractions that will certainly make this year a memorable one! Tess Designs will present a festive lineup of dresses – from summer frocks to trendy little cocktail numbers! Pair this fashion excitement with custom Derby hats and fascinators from Milli Starr and you’ve got dynamite on the track!
The Grande Event hosted by the amazing Mandy Lauderdale, supports the R.O.C.K. (Ride On Center For Kids) Charity www.rockride.org. Their Vision is to be a dynamic leader in equine-assisted activities through service, research and higher learning. Their Mission is to improve independence and life skills, in partnership with the horse.
Complimentary lite bites and sweet treats and drink specials will be offered, along with raffle prizes and a little competition for “Best Hat” and “Best Dressed Gentleman”. Traditional Derby Day attire is encouraged. Come on out, sip a Mint Julep and don’t forget to take your picture with Peggy Sue, R.O.C.K.’s very own miniature horse, who will be sporting her racing silks.
So join us on Saturday, May 5th from 2-5:30pm @ Star Bar in Downtown Austin, Texas, at 600 W. 6th Street. Kentucky Derby coverage will be provided on multiple flat screens, both indoor and out. Post Time is 5:24pm CT. It’s going to be a fine day at the races!
